Artist / Abby Lee
Abby LEE, a native of Hong Kong, graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a major in Scenic Art. During her time as a student, she had the invaluable opportunity to partake in a scenic internship at the esteemed Royal National Theatre in London, further enriching her artistic skills and perspective. She then graduated from a master of Arts in fine art degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2023, and did an artist-in-residence program at the Treasure Hill Artist Village in Taipei for three months.
LEE has extensively experimented with various art materials, with a particular focus on acrylic painting, and combines her experience in stage production to create highly visual scenes, through which she explores the relationships between modern society and individuals. She likes to depict living and working environments, with favourite issues including group cooperation and individual destiny. Elements such as water supply systems, cross-sections of artificial structures, and urban landscapes are common features in her paintings.
In 2020, LEE received the Gold Award from Art Next Expo 2021 in Hong Kong. She also obtained the "Osage Art Award - Best in MA Show" in 2023.
