Artist / Chan Yuk Keung, Kurt
Kurt, Chan Yuk Keung obtained his BA from the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and his M.F.A. from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan, U.S.A in 1983 and 1988 respectively. Kurt then joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1989, teaching studio art courses till 2016.
Kurt is an artist as well as an educator, his research interests cover a wide range of topics such as Hong Kong Art, Art in public realm and Mixed Media, whereas the outputs mostly presented in the forms of exhibition, curatorship, and publication.
Over the years, Kurt has participated over 80 exhibitions locally and overseas, the notable ones are the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005, The 2nd Triennial of Asia Pacific in 1996. In recent years, Kurt has focused on merging ink and western painting traditions in art creation.
