Artist / Lin Hao Bai

Born in Taipei in 1983, Lin Hao-Bai lives and works in Taipei. He started his studies in the doctoral program at the Department of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University in 2014, and received his second Chimei Arts Award the same year.

Based on observation and cultural aesthetics, Lin's "Still Life" series embodies poetic dialogue by employing metaphor and the utilization of objects to express emotions, conveying a calm and quiet atmosphere through realistic oil painting techniques. In recent years, he developed the "Urban Landscape" series while traveling in different cities. The cities under his brush are objects of observation.

Through different arrangements of light and perspective, inner emotions and external experiences are intertwined and reproduced.

Lin was awarded numerous awards between 2008 to 2015, including the Merit Award, New Taipei City Creativity Award (2008), Second Prize, National Large-sized Oil Painting Exhibition (2009),First Prize, New Artist Award by Union Culture Foundation(2010),Chimei Arts Award (2012, 2014), and National Art Exhibition (Shortlist, 2011, Bronze Medal, 2013,Silver Medal, 2015).

His works are included in the collections of National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung City Seaport Art Center, New Taipei City Cultural Center, Chimei Museum, and Union Culture Foundation.
