Artist / Marian Ang
Marian Ang (b. 1987) is a contemporary Hong-Kong based painter. Born in London, she graduated from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London in 2010 and moved to Hong Kong in 2017. Marian is an art historian and researcher by training, and a former consultant for UNESCO in the field of cultural heritage protection, specifically the trafficking of art and antiquities. Marian's experiments with various media over the years and encounters with art and its multiple histories have motivated her painting practice. Her paintings honour the memories and emotions of the mundane and everyday, bringing a new perspective to the genres of still life and the domestic. Her works can be found in private collections in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia.
