Abby Lee 李欣儀
Abby Lee, a native of Hong Kong, graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a major in Scenic Art. During her time as a student, she had the invaluable opportunity to partake in a scenic internship at the esteemed Royal National Theatre in London, further enriching her artistic skills and perspective. She then graduated from a master of Arts in fine art degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2023, and did an artist-in-residence program at the Treasure Hill Artist Village in Taipei for three months.
Lee has extensively experimented with various art materials, with a particular focus on acrylic painting, and combines her experience in stage production to create highly visual scenes, through which she explores the relationships between modern society and individuals. She likes to depict living and working environments, with favourite issues including group cooperation and individual destiny. Elements such as water supply systems, cross-sections of artificial structures, and urban landscapes are common features in her paintings.
In 2020, Lee received the Gold Award from Art Next Expo 2021 in Hong Kong. She also obtained the "Osage Art Award - Best in MA Show" in 2023.
李欣儀生於香港,目前於香港生活及工作。2014年畢業於香港演藝學院,主修繪景藝術。在學期間獲校內獎學金赴倫敦皇家國家劇院實習。2023年她在香港中文大學完成藝術文學碩士課程,並於台北寶藏巖國際藝術村進行了為期三個月的藝術駐村計劃。
她主要使用塑膠彩進行創作,並結合她在舞台製作的經驗,創造出畫面感極強的情景,從中探索現代社會與人的關係。其作品多描繪其生活及工作環境,喜歡的主題包括群體合作與個人命運等。供水系統、人工建築物橫切面和城市景觀等都是她繪畫中的常見元素。
2021年她獲得第四屆新藝潮博覽會金獎。並於2023年在中文大學碩士課程畢業展獲得「奧沙藝術獎——文學碩士最佳畢業作品」。該獎項由奥沙藝術基金支持。
