Sui-ying Chan Zaffer
Sui-ying Chan Zaffer (b.1991), obtained Bachelor of Fine Arts from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014 and Master of Fine Arts in 2017. Her major research interests are contemporary relationships between ink arts and traditional Chinese mounting. She nurtured paper conservation expertise in Taiwan and currently working in Hong Kong as a paper conservator and continuing ink art creation. Chan captures the abnormalities or transformation of seasons, marked with her delicate emotions and surrealistic arrangements of objects. Chan’s vivid imagination created the portrayal of sentimental and spiritual scenery which evoke the interrelation of man and nature. Chan has received several awards, including the Wucius Wong Modern Ink Painting Award Hong Kong, Chinese Meticulous Painting Association Creative Award and the Madam Jan Yun-bor Memorial Awards for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. She has participated in various joint and solo exhibitions, and her works are prized by private collectors.

Sam Cheng
Sam Cheng (b.1989), graduated from the Fine Arts Department of CUHK with BA first-class honour, she specialises in still life and landscape paintings, in which she expresses her feelings towards daily objects.
When painting, she usually experiences a kind of meditation, which is a process of self-precipitation and healing. By combining the precise and meticulous gongbi technique (traditional delineative painting) and the depiction of modern subjects to convey her personal feelings, there is a sentimental quality in her modernised ink paintings. She uses linear lines to define the subject forms in her stories; applies ink washes to render layers of feelings and varies the shades of colours to empower the expression of emotions. Cheng creates her own visual vocabulary for expression of feelings, presenting a trinity of harmony formed by contemplative ink strokes, pastel shades and modulating lines.
Cheng has won the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Creative Award, Culture Corner Art Academy Fine Arts Award, and the Ting Yen Yung Creative Award for her artworks. She has held numerous solo exhibitions, joint exhibitions, and art fairs in both her local area and Taiwan. Her works are mostly held in private collections.
