Liu Cheng Mui 廖井梅
Liu was born in Beijing. In 1988, she graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts the same year. After studying for a year, she was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Culture to study in the former Soviet Union.
In 1996, she graduated from the Russian State Surikov Academy of Fine Arts with a Master's degree in Fine Arts. She has taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and is a member of the China Artists Association. She has also taught at the University of Hong Kong and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Jessie Siu 蕭靜知
Jessie Siu, a postgraduate in philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. With an unwavering commitment to exploration, Siu’s path is marked by continual reinvention, fearlessly navigating the uncharted waters of self-expression and creativity.
Inspired by the timeless wisdom of Buddhism, Siu masterfully translates profound philosophical concepts into visual narratives that resonate deeply with viewers. Her work invites a courageous confrontation with the truths of existence, encouraging an intimate exploration of the infinite nature of the mind. Through her art, she seeks to liberate viewers from the confines of reality, illuminating the transformative potential of embracing true freedom and the pursuit of happiness.
Sherry Fung 馮凱珊
Born in Hong Kong in 1993, FUNG Hoi-Shan graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016 and finished her Master programme of Fine Arts in 2020. Applying the techniques of traditional Chinese paintings, FUNG works primarily with fine brushes and uses deep colour shades which create a dusky ambiance within her works. Inspired by her own life experiences and perceptions, she reflects the emotional linkages between humans and human-animals through depiction of the cities and wildlifes. The tension between animals and cities also shown in her paintings. She is especially skilled in using gold and silver colour to build rich layers that intertwine the reality and fantasy.
Zaffer CHAN 陳瑞瑩
Zaffer obtained Bachelor of Fine Arts from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014 and Master of Fine Arts in 2017. Her major research interests are contemporary relationships between ink arts and traditional Chinese mounting. She nurtured paper conservation expertise in Taiwan and currently working in Hong Kong as a paper conservator and continuing ink art creation. Chan captures the abnormalities or transformation of seasons, marked with her delicate emotions and surrealistic arrangements of objects. Chan’s vivid imagination created the portrayal of sentimental and spiritual scenery which evoke the interrelation of man and nature. Chan has received several awards, including the Wucius Wong Modern Ink Painting Award Hong Kong, Chinese Meticulous Painting Association Creative Award and the Madam Jan Yun-bor Memorial Awards for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy. She has participated in various joint and solo exhibitions, and her works are prized by private collectors.
