何謂寫實？柏拉圖的藝術模仿論認為藝術創作是人類作為審美主體，對於身處的大自然竭盡全力的模仿和接近，但如果，僅僅是對大自然的崇敬與模仿，藝術家們的主體性該如何體現，又「為何寫實」？然而，寫實藝術並不僅僅是對自然的模仿和崇敬，無數藝術家，在畫作中注入自己的主觀性和創造力，令作品變得獨一無二。寫實藝術家透過自己的技巧和想像力，在作品中表達出自己對現實的理解和感受，並通過這些獨特的觸覺與觀眾交流。
